We are pleased to announce an exceptional seminar by Cécile Charrier (École Normale Supérieure) titled “Insights from human-specific genes on synaptic development.”
The seminar will take place on 17 February at 11:00, at the Paris Brain Institute (ICM), in Room 1–2.
This event marks the inauguration of the partnership between Nikon France and the ICM.Quant platform. It will open with remarks by Brian Lau (ICM) and Numako Massyuki (Nikon), and will conclude with a cocktail reception in the hall.
Dr. Charrier will present recent work on the cellular and molecular mechanisms driving synapse formation in cortical circuits, with a focus on human‑specific genes that influence synaptic maturation, cortical connectivity, and distinctive features of the human brain, as well as their implications for neurodevelopmental disorders.
